Albion got off to a great start in the Championship yesterday, beating Doncaster Rovers 2-1. The match kicked off following a huge celebration of flags by the 18000 strong Albion fans.

The match started slowly with Brighton dominating. After about 15 mins, Doncaster were back in the game, attacking the nervy Brighton defence. After 39 mins, Doncaster broke the deadlock with a Billy Sharp strike. The ball had knocked off about 3 BHA defenders before eventually trickling over the Brighton line.

Doncaster continued to dominate untill the half-time mark, when Brighton had a rough talking to by the gaffer Gus Poyet, who had been sent to the stands for an earlier incident involving Kazenga LuaLua and two Rovers defenders.

After half-time Brighton took charge of the game, coming close on a number of occasions. The honour of 'First competetive goal by a BHA player at the AMEX' was left to sub Will Buckley, who scored a wonderful goal in the 89th min.

He then put the ball in the back of the Doncaster Rover's net for a 2nd time in the 90+8th min after a lightning run by Craig Noone. Talk about leaving it late!

The whole day was brilliant - from the pre-match entertainment to the nerve-racking ending! A day that will be in the hearts of many for years to come!
